Hurghada - major Red Sea tourist center in Egypt. Population of approx. 250,000

Located on the shores of the Red Sea and originally a fishing village, Hurghada has grown to be Egypt’s second largest city. Founded early in the 20th century, this popular tourist centre is divided into three parts: the old part, the modern part and the city centre

With approximately 36 kilometres of seashore, it is a popular tourist attraction for water sports enthusiasts offering spectacular scuba diving and snorkelling amongst the incredible coral reefs and viewing the hundreds of varieties of tropical fish. The climate is one of hot summers and mild winters.

Hurghada has direct international flight connections to Cairo and to several cities in Europe. Package holiday incentives and modern resorts which overlook the beaches make this a popular holiday destination. Tourists can experience an adventure trip into the Sahara desert, haggling for a bargain at one of the many markets, camel riding, viewing ancient and remote ruins from Biblical times, or enjoying a cruise across the Red Sea.

Cafes and restaurants offer a variety of international and local cuisine, there is a cosmopolitan nightlife scene and accommodation ranges from budget to five star as well as some private self catering options.
