Kuala Lumpur - Capital city of Malaysia. Population of approx. 1.6 million

This city is the economic and business centre of Malaysia. Originally a tin mining village founded in 1857, it has grown in recent times to become a bustling, ethnically diverse city displaying an architectural mixture of old colonial, Asian and Malay Islamic influences and modern western styles.

Located on the west coast of the Peninsula of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur has a tropical rainforest climate of high humidity and sunny summer months with an lots of rain during the period of  October to March. Kuala Lumpur is a food lovers paradise offering a variety of Malaysian, Chinese (especially Cantonese), Indian, Korean, Arab, Middle Eastern and international cuisine available in  restaurants, food courts and street-side food stalls.

World renowned for its cheap five star accommodation, Kuala Lumpur also caters for budget travellers. The city has several good theatres, museums and performing arts complexes as well as a vibrant nightlife and venues for sporting opportunities.
