Mexico Hotels Price Comparisons
Not many people know that Mexico is one of the most popular tourist destinations on earth, typically attracting over 20 million foreign visitors per year. It is a favorite choice for visitors from the USA, it's northern neighbor, who flock to the many beach resort towns located on the more than 6,000 miles of coastline that include the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Visitors from the United States tend to head to the Baja Peninsula and the beach resort towns such as Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. European tourists seem to prefer the smaller, quieter destinations in the south such as Playa del Carmen and San Cristobal de las Casas. Visitors will find lots of golf courses throughout the country, exceptional fishing and a wealth of natural attractions and history. The country is home to several major Mayan archaeology sites with some having been classified as World Heritage sites. Chichen Itza is one of the better known Mayan sites, but it is just one of many in different parts of the country. Mexicans are a friendly, hospitable people, proud of their mix of indigenous history, 21st century cities and superb architecture. It is a country full of interesting art and archeology, ancient pyramids and world class museums. Mexican landscapes are diverse, ranging from snow capped mountains in the Sierras, to wet jungles in the southeast and dry desert in the Northwest.
